Rare Angle Poise Desk Lamp by Herbert Terry 1930s / 1940s
Beutiful Desk lamp
This lamp has been fully restored to a very high standard and is now in lovely condition and works as it should.
This model is a very early type and is very similar to the first 3 step angle poise lamp, infact it is exactly the same as the 3 step but with the 2 step base. the shade is the smaller lipped and daintier type and has the 4 rectangular blocks of ventilation holes to the sides nearer the top of the shade.
The arms on this lamp are steel and not aluminium as the common later models.
The shade, arms and base have been repainted in a satin black.
All the fittings have been re-chromed with exception of the the springs.
The springs do show the age, they are original and have been cleaned and refitted.
I have completely rewired and earthed the lamp, it has been fitted with a silver braided flex, a new brass bulb holder and an inline switch.
